“IT IS NOT OVER UNTIL WE WIN” is the motto of the school’s soccer team that they draw inspiration and determination in their sporting activities. The year 2017 was an iconic year for St Francis Football team. Some of the schools were J.G. Zuma High, Ohlange and J.L. Dube High.

St Francis’ boys did well but unfortunately could not qualify for the final as the school finished second in group stages. However, the school went on to win some of the friendly games they played against other schools recently. For instance: SFC 4 – Northwood High 0; SFC 5 – Star College 0.

In 2018 the school introduced U/15 soccer team and this team developed fast under the guidance of the senior team. They began their season by losing 1 – 0 to Nilgri High. However, in the subsequent match the team would emerge victorious by destroying Highway College 5 – 2.

The team is currently participating in the Coca-Cola tournament. The first phase of the tournament was at the Circuit Level in which the school trashed Thornwood to proceed to the next stage – District Level. “We wish the boys all the best on this journey that they have begun”.

Meanwhile, the school is waiting in anticipation for the Kloof Tournament, McDonald’s tournament as well as the Motsepe Foundation Schools Tournament. In its sporting endeavour the school soccer team is led by the motto “IT IS NOT OVER UNTIL WE WIN”.
