Following the introduction of the Top Achievers (TAs) Awards, St Francis College, Mariannhill has since observed registered increased academic competition amongst learners of all Grades. The aim of the TAs awards is the cultivation of the spirit of working hard amongst learners, thereby upholding the school’s legacy of academic excellence.

The introduction of the TAs awards early this academic year, has ignited a culture of commitment and competition in studies amongst learners, across all grades. This spirit is evidenced in the number of the recipients of these prestigious awards from the First Term to date. To illustrate, at the end of the First Term there were five learners who qualified for the awards. In the Second
Term there were eight learners who received the awards, two of whom had also received in the previous term. For the Third Term, there are five recipients of these prestigious awards.

To qualify, a learner must achieve above 75% in all subjects. It must be noted that the TAs wards have been dominated by the GET Phase (Grades 8&9) learners.
